Education and experience
After receiving a Masters of Arts in Teaching English at Colorado State University, I taught English at the junior high level for two years. This confirmed my love of teaching, but I decided to further my higher education by studying law at Texas Tech School of Law where I earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. After passing the Texas bar exam, I moved to Indiana to join the staff of an international Christian missionary organization as an in-house legal counsel.

After serving with that organization for 16 years, I relocated to Mount Vernon, Washington to be on staff of a non-profit, charitable retirement community located in the Stanwood, Washington area.

During my tenure at both organizations, I gained experience in estate planning, elder law, charitable giving, probate, trust administration, income taxation and the laws and administration of tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations. I also had active, part-time practices while I worked at both organizations. Since the year 1999, I’ve taught Estate Planning and Probate class in the paralegal department at Skagit Valley College.

Now I have expanded my law practice from part-time to full-time. I focus my practice in the areas of:
     • Estate planning;
     • Settling estates;
     • Adoptions; and
     • Non-profit organizations.
